By using SparkLearn ("the App"), you agree to these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, please do not use the App.

2. Description of Service
SparkLearn is an educational application designed to support students with reading and comprehension skills. The App includes an AI-powered tutoring assistant, practice exercises, and parent monitoring tools.

3. User Accounts
You must provide accurate information when creating an account. You are responsible for keeping your account credentials secure. Users under 13 require parental consent.

4. Parent and Student Accounts
Parent accounts may link to student accounts to monitor progress. Parent dashboards are read-only. Parents may send pre-defined encouragement messages to linked students.

5. Acceptable Use
You agree not to:
 - Use the App for any unlawful purpose
 - Share your account with others
 - Attempt to reverse-engineer or tamper with the App
 - Upload harmful, offensive, or inappropriate content

6. AI Tutor
The AI Tutor is powered by OpenAI and is designed for educational purposes. Responses are intended for reading support only. The AI Tutor is not a substitute for professional educators or therapists.

7. Privacy
Your use of the App is also governed by our Privacy Policy, which is incorporated into these Terms.

8. Termination
We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms.

9. Disclaimer
The App is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind. We do not guarantee that the App will be error-free or uninterrupted.

Privacy Policy

SparkLearn ("we", "us", "our") is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and protect your information.

 - Account information: name, email address, and role (student or parent)
 - Learning data: reading level, session accuracy, time spent, skill progress
 - AI Tutor conversations: messages you send to and receive from the AI Tutor
 - Encouragement messages sent between parents and students

3. How We Use Your Information
 - To provide and improve the App's educational features
 - To personalise the AI Tutor's responses to your reading level
 - To allow parents to monitor their linked student's progress
 - To send encouragement messages from parents to students

4. Data Storage
All data is stored securely using Google Firebase (Firestore and Firebase Auth), which complies with industry-standard security practices. Data is stored in the United States.

5. Data Sharing
We do not sell your personal data. We do not share your data with third parties except:
 - OpenAI (for AI Tutor functionality, governed by OpenAI's privacy policy)
 - Google Firebase (for authentication and database services)

6. Children's Privacy
SparkLearn is designed for students. We take children's privacy seriously. Students under 13 must have parental consent. Parents can request deletion of their child's data at any time.

7. Your Rights
You have the right to:
 - Access your personal data
 - Correct inaccurate data
 - Request deletion of your account and data
 - Withdraw consent at any time

8. Data Deletion
To delete your account and all associated data, use the "Delete Account" option in Settings, or contact us at alerttmenow@gmail.com.

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify users of significant changes through the App.
